It all starts with when, where, who, booking, sorting, packing, travel.
This all sorted the months quickly pass, Hours tick away and before you know it we are on our way.
France Petit Pretre (The Little Priest Lakes) Here we come.
Night time Travel with Uwe and a small diversion to Canterbury, to pick up Henry one of our other team buddies on route. Next the tunnel link to France. Met rest of the team, Mark and Charlie, at the tunnel as arranged to travel together through France.
All running smooth and I could feel that buzz of excitement hanging in the air. Took turns at driving and arrived bang on time to be greeted by our hosts and their two dogs.
First priority a beer followed by a look around the lakes. Due to being on a working party a few months before I had a good idea of the fishing and venue. Felt like a school kid on his first outing. Draw done and was happy with swim 10. Fished this before whilst on working party draining/ clearing other lake.
Used Successful Baits Red Hot Bullet and CalaFrutti on this swim on that visit which resulted in catching 14 carp, the biggest being 45.7lb others being in the high twenties and thirties.
Decided on Fishing reeds and far wall with two rods the other one of my rods facing swim 11. Set up done and rod in water set up on VNX+ with white pop up long hook link and 15 lb X line. Didn't have time to set second rod before line reeled from the spool and buzzer giving me the heart racing sensation of a fish. Was not in water for longer than twenty minutes before landing a mid-twenty mirror. Wow, could hear "Joe`s in" around the lake. Love it.
The team was spread around the lake and as the week went on all were having good catches. Some moving swims due to the fish holding up near reeds and under trees. Banter went on through the week and all had great time.
What can one say. Whilst using Successful baits I caught 13 carp, the biggest 34.7 average being high twenties, overall.325 lbs in weight.
All my fish were caught on either Scoberry, Red Hot Bullet or VNX+ Proves to me that with this range of bait your confidence grows and fishing for carp is not just a waiting game.
Also caught two pike and tench on this bait!!
Successful baits UK team (x5) fished well OVER 1,500LB carp caught that week
