I am 47 and a fire fighter and Team Leader at Successful Baits UK. I'm relatively new to the carp fishing scene, only being back on the bank side for 2 years after a 20 year break. Before becoming a team member for Successful Baits, my PB was 19lb for both Mirror and Common. I have now broken my PB 4 times in the last 12 months using the mighty Nasty Shrimp.
My PBs now stand at 40lb Common and 36lb 9oz Mirror. Successful by name, Successful by nature ...

I’ve been a fisherman since the thrill of my first fish capture at the age of 10 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the proceeding 28 years I have absorbed as much information as I can from fishing magazines, watched hours of Go Fishing and Thinking Tackle and have tried to take something onto the riverbank or lakeside from all of them. I moved solely into Carp and Cat fishing about 12 years ago and I’ve been lucky enough to catch fish that some may wait a lifetime for, but I’m always wanting that next magical session. I’m hopeful that joining the Successful Baits Team and using what I already know is a fantastic bait range, I will continue to add some impressive catches over the years to come. I have a current UKPB Carp of 32lbs 8oz, a European PB Carp of 38lb 14oz and a UK Catfish PB of 68lbs.
I'm 25 and have been fishing since I was 8 with my passion growing over the years. At 13 I began to focus mainly on carp and have caught some amazing fish from some equally amazing locations. As much as I love catching big carp and beating a pb my most memorable captures haven't always been the biggest but they have had significance in making me the angler I am today and have made me adapt my style to be able to target a particular fish that I have either seen pictures of or have seen swimming about and then go on and land them, which for me is a very special feeling. My 2019 plans are to get onto a water very close to where I live which only holds around 20 carp in 6 acres of water and there is one in particular that I will definitely be trying to get on the bank, a real fish of a lifetime at over 50lbs. It will not be an easy challenge but I am sure that with the right approach and the Successful Baits range I will have a good season there and hopefully see a new pb or my target fish grace the bank. My UK PB is 37lb 6oz, European is 39lb 12oz.
I've been fishing since early 1970. I was a 10 yr old boy when my father took me sea fishing off Southend Pier. I progressed to river fishing on the River Lea at Cooks Ferry, sometimes, as a teenager, getting the last bus back to Ilford. I'm beginning to encourage my grandsons into course fishing, just like my Dad did with me. Now that I’ve retired after working for the railways for over 40 years, I’m able to concentrate on my carp fishing in the UK and France. I've caught carp to a 51lb a Mirror. I'm now targeting commons, my PB is 32lb 8oz. After catching my first 30lb Common it has taken 8 years to get this PB. 2017 has been a great year for my carp fishing and has taken off with me using VNX+, ending with new PBs for a Mirror, Common and Grass carp, all gained in one fantastic week. I’m looking forward to a great 2018 in my carp fishing.
Hi my name is Steve Brooks, I’m a 40 year old security officer from Bedfordshire. I started fishing in 1991 and started fishing for carp in 1998. After getting into local club waters in 2003, I have fished numerous lakes of different angling difficulty, from high stocked small pits to large low stock gravel pits. I have a wealth of knowledge accumulated over the years. I have had some success over the years but my PB currently stands at a 22lb 11oz common caught on a day session at Manor Farm Lakes' awesome Booneys Lake. I joined the Successful team in March 2019 and must say the quality of the bait is second to none, so much so I have only had one blank session using the bait so far.
I’m a 35 year old Firefighter and have been fishing since the age of 5 after being introduced and taught about the sport by my Father. I like to spend the free time that I have available fishing a variety of different waters, both still and flowing. The mainstay of my fishing for the last 10 years or so has been Carp fishing, I managed to break the magical 40lb barrier this year during my first French trip. I’ve already booked to return next year so I’m hoping that together with Successful Baits my PB’s can improve both home and abroad.
I am 16 years old and have only been carp fishing for 6 months. Since joining Successful Baits UK I have got both my Common and Mirror PBs, at 22lb 14oz and 18lb. Not only have I got new PBs but I am now catching more regularly, all due to the fantastic Successful Baits. *** Update: Broke my Common PB again with Successful Baits UK, now 28lb ***
I am a father of 2 so spare time is limited but, when I get it, I love nothing better than hitting the bank. More likely than not my eldest comes along too. I taught him to fish and now he's after my rods when we go. My current PB Mirror carp is 21lb and Common is 20lb caught on a pink VNX+ wafter. I am confident Successful Baits will help me smash these. I caught my first ever Sturgeon of 27lb on a TigerNut boilie, on a water I had previously struggled to get a bite on using other baits. I also river fish with my PB Barbel being 11lb, caught many years ago but hopefully going to get back on the rivers and amongst them. I fish mainly short sessions when the kids are in bed. With limited bank time it's good to know I have a quality bait with me.
I'm a 25 year old landscaper by day and a die hard carp fishing lover at the weekends! I have fished on and off for a number of years but really fell in love with carping in the last 12 months. I like to mix up my choice of venues, generally being a different lake every weekend, and experimenting with differant ideas and techniques. My current PB is a modest 16lb but with Successful Baits I aim to catch bigger and better!
I am 22 years old and work as both an electrical engineer and a lifeguard. It was 2 years ago I first picked up a fishing rod and I haven't looked back since. I love learning new methods and techniques while fishing and setting myself challenges to catch certain fish. I'm not always about catching the biggest fish in the lake, although my aim is to bag my first 30lb carp this year, I equally love catching pretty ghosties and linears. My current Common PB stands at 25lb 8, caught on my all time favourite - VNX+. I plan to continue enjoying my journey as a carp angler with Successful Baits by my side and making new friends along the way. *** Update: New CatFish PB 75lb, Mirror PB 23lb 8oz, Tench PB 6lb ***
I'm a 40yr old decorator from the Medway towns and must have 30+ yrs of fishing background behind me, starting as a young kid float fishing with my dad, to standing on the coast line in freezing conditions sea fishing, before settling into what I love most, (apart from family) carp fishing. Something about setting them traps, whether it be stalking or static fishing and waiting for that tip to bend over gives me the buzz of carping and that adrenaline rush we all love of the not knowing. Being part of the Successful Team is only going to boost my confidence more, knowing what I've got on the end of the hook is quality. My UK PB is a 33lb mirror and French PB a 60lb 04oz mirror.
I'm from Newbury. I have been fishing for over 20 years and carp fishing since I was 12. I have been hooked ever since I caught my first carp. My PB is 30lb 3oz. I love stalking carp, it's one of my favourite ways to fish. I also have a catfish PB of 45lb out of the River Ebro. I've never been fishing in France but I hope to change that next year.
I'm 40 years old from Bristol and I'm a bakery operative at Warburtons. I started fishing at 11 and have progressed through different species before starting to angle for carp about 9 years ago. My PBs are 22lbs Mirror and 17lb Common in the UK, and 46lb Mirror, 30lb 8oz Common in France. I target day ticket waters and I'm looking forward to using Successful Baits to up my PB this year. Tight Lines !
Hi all, I'm a 34 year old night supervisor. I have been hooked on carp fishing for 28 years since I landed my first mirror of about 6lb at the age of 6 and since then I have never looked back. My current UK PB is 36lb 2oz and my French PB is 54lb. I would like to thank the guys at Successful Baits for the opportunity of joining a wonderful team with some amazing products, and I'm looking forward to a very bright future.
I am 50 years old and from Derbyshire. I have been fishing over 40 years, in the last 20yrs mainly for carp. My UK PB is a 34lb Common from Yatley. I'm still waiting for my French trip - hopefully next year. Tight Lines.
